Wilbur, many thanks.

I attached the driver for the HL-2040 and that seems to work for now.
So I'm saved!

No, seriously, that helps.  It's weird that the 2240 printer can use
the 2040 driver but not the 2140 driver.  Oh, well, at least the
printer's not dead any more.

I recorded this in my configuration file, so if I need it again, I
have a record.

Whew!
