Have the same problem on two machines after I updated.  In addition, I
can't watch a *.avi or *.mp4 video on VLC or the Xubuntu video player.
The player simply locks up tighter than a tic.

Hopefully, this problem will be fixed soon.  Both machines are running
Xubuntu 10.04 LTS with zero problems ... until now.
