It's a committee that decides, and apache2 was included as a default, 
possibly being perceived as the most popular choice. I can't remember 
when someone even mentioned xginx in this forum. Also, it has an 
"BSD_like license" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nginx

Of course Apache has it's own, as well, but it IS the 800 pound gorilla 
in the room, that is closely watched, so possibly "more trusted". It 
certainly, by far, has a much larger group of users, developers and 
documents to call on. Plus, there are plenty of other http servers that 
could have also been used. I guess you just can't please everyone. :) Ric
