Try renaming the folder '/home/g/.googleearth', perhaps that will make it
work.

In a terminal, this would be:

g at laptop:~$ mv ~/.googleearth ~/.googleearth~

In Thunar, press Ctrl+H to show the hidden files, then rename the
.googleearth folder to something else.
