[xubuntu-users] No sound in Xubuntu whatsoever

Jonathan,

I suspect that there will be a simple answer somewhere.
I'm no expert, but some things to try ..
Does the sound card show up in gnome-device-manager?
Run xfce4-mixer and put ALL the controls on full.
Get a .wav file from somewhere (run 'locate .wav') and run 'aplay
filename.wav' - see if you get a result
