Hi
The Model of the machine would possibly help.
I would go for VGA = 814 this will force into 800^600 mode acceptable for
most monitors.
The other way is to install ssh with install, then connect and reconfigure
Grub from ssh.
Make it headless, change bios error halting without monitor attached.
