A faster machine will not do you any harm, but I doubt it's the sole cause
of your problems.
Are you using any addons with your copy of Firefox? Try disabling them all
and see if your cpu cycle consumption drops off - re-add them one by one
until you find the guilty party. I'm assuming of course, that the high CPU
utilisation is reproducible.
