[Bug 1015443] Re: Thunderbird hangs the desktop when escaping from password prompt

I can confirm this on an up to date precise i386 running unity-2d
running in qemu-kvm on a precise host. If I start thunderbird (with it
not remembering a password). There seems to be a race condition.
Reproducer:

1. Setup an imap account with SSL self-signed certificate (may not be required, but it is what I tested)
2. Close thunderbird
3. start thunderbird-- you will be prompted for a password and/or SSL cert
4. without interacting with the password/SSL dialog, put this mouse cursor in the preview pain
5. press escape (twice in rapid succession if have both the password and SSL dialog) and quickly drag the cursor into the message
6. if it doesn't work, select the Inbox and repeat steps 3-5, if it doesn't work, select Sent and report 3-5

Repeat 3-6 (alternating as needed between Inbox and Sent as needed)
until the timing is 'right' and the cursor changes into a click and drag
event that you can't unclick. While it is hard to get the timing right
every time, it happens readily.

Workaround:
- use Crtl+Q to close thunderbird, which releases the mouse
