Zijn hier ook vertalers die enthousiast worden om ddtp aan te pakken?
Persoonlijk moet ik bekennen dat ik er niet veel aandacht aan schenk,
maar misschien nu we weer Nightmonkey en andere hulpmiddelen hebben komt
daar verandering in.

Hi,

We started a new campaign a week ago in the French community to
encourage broad participation in the translation of package descriptions.

Given the fact that it's a huge task, that we have automated suggestions
for French, and the insight that people usually have a couple of
packages they love, we've targeted them on thematic issues (GNOME, KDE,
XFCE, LXDE, Games, Education?) by creating links to Nightmonkey (and
before that thematic lists of links to translate) which cater to their
interests.
We also encouraged people to translate the ONE package they love

Our insight is that the DDTP is a long tail problem which can be solved
both by short tail solution (translating popular packages) and long tail
solution (asking for community help)

I've translated the blog post in English if you're interested in a
similar approach. You'll notice that we pimped things a bit to get
people excited about it, but it seems to be working well for us (there's
also the fact that we have automated suggestions to help raise the
level, and that our reviewer community is quite restrictive to ensure QA)

sincerely,
Pierre
