Hi! As I understand stable releases get only security updates. After reading these (see links below) and this ( http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17562) I have a strong feeling that few exceptions should be allowed. I also believe that stable release update policy should be revised. For example what happens if dapper ships with broken xorg (bug that disables mouse)? What I propose is: If there is a bug that affects everyone using given package/tool/config file/hardware and if there is a clean solution that fixes the bug for everyone allow update of non-security related bugfix. And please, update pmount for breezy. I have these nightmarish visions of moms and avarage joes rushing to enable dapper repositories and edit fstab :) Links: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=76517&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=92429&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=81858&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=78986&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=76481&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=76481&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=70196&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=76451&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=73557&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=70684&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=72027&highlight=mount+error+floppy http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=85777 -- Sandis -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
