In going from 14.10 to 15.04, did you upgrade, or did you install 15.04
new?
It is possible (it has happened to me in installing new) that you didn't
install the package the desktop launcher launched.
Usually, in such cases, the icon gets changed to some generic form.
If that is the cause, simply install the software it is supposed to
launch. The icon may not re-appear until next time you sign-in.
That would not explain the situation if the software package is Firefox,
which is installed by default.
