I have been running Lubuntu 14.10 for some time,but recently
decided to Install 15.04. having done this I have a problem with
shortcuts not opening the programme which they are linked to?ie
when I right click on say Firefox,I am asked which programme to
use to open it?This did not happen on 14.10,how can I resolve

In going from 14.10 to 15.04, did you upgrade, or did you install
15.04 new? <br>

It is possible (it has happened to me in installing new) that you
didn't install the package the desktop launcher launched. <br>
<br>
Usually, in such cases, the icon gets changed to some generic form.
<br>

If that is the cause, simply install the software it is supposed to
launch. The icon may not re-appear until next time you sign-in. <br>
<br>
That would not explain the situation if the software package is
Firefox, which is installed by default. <br>
