I didn't have quite Daniel's optimism, but I figured you had enough
experience to say No if it wanted to do too much. :-)

I'd run this (you could remove any packages from the list that you really
think _are_ redundant):

sudo aptitude unmarkauto \
antlr db4.2-util dirmngr gjdoc jikes kandy lesstif1 \
  libgnujaxp-java libgnujaxp-jni libmad0-dev libmdbtools \
  libopensc1 libpcsclite1 libpolyp0 libtiff-tools \
  libxml-writer-perl python-uno python2.3-zopeinterface \
  subversion superkaramba

Then use:

sudo aptitude upgrade

It should stop trying to remove the others.
