kate: show all characters

Hi

I've been playing with turbogears (which is quite nice by the way).
I've doing the main 20 minutes wiki tutorial, but when finishing the
tutorial (in the AJAX section) I've found a problem. I've copy-pasted
some code in a xhtml file (a kid template, but this is not really
important) and everything seemed to be fine under kate. Then I
launched the localhost server and found out that the rendered HTML was
incorrect and in the section I included the javascript some \n scape
characters where added, so the server didn't executed my javascript.
When I open the template with kate everything seems normal. I've
contacted the turbogears mailing list and a user told me that opening
the kid template in windows notepad showed strange characters included
(i.e. messed utf8 file). Anyone know how can I see this in kate?

PS: Using dapper up to date. I don't know if this is a bug or not, so
until I'm more confident it's a bug I'm not opening a bug report.
