[xubuntu-users] Error running Software Updated

getting an error running software updater.  cannot download 
repositories, the 'software is up to date'

ran synaptic pkg mgr, ubuntu in search box, ran 'reload package 
information', got 'could not download all repository indexes' and the 
following text:

Failed to fetch 
http://archive/getdeb.net/ubuntu/dists/xenial-getdeb/InRelease Could not 
resolve 'archive 'Some index files failed to download. They have been 
ignored, or old ones used instead.

trying to update purebasic.
