[xubuntu-users] Howto or Tutorial for systemd to add a network service

I want to add an inetd lookalike service to systemd on my xubuntu
15.10 system.  That's a service that will start a server when
something tries to connect to a specific port.

I can find the man pages for the various bits of systemd but would
like a howto or tutorial that will show me the basics of the
configuration files required.

Any suggestions?
