In a terminal at the command prompt type.  dmesg and ENTER

you open a terminal and write

cd /var/log
ls -l

Then you can see all files in long format. E. g.
-rw-r----- 1 root              adm    49528 Sep 23 10:20 dmesg

Now you can check all files that have the current date. You can look for 
Broadcom by typing

grep Broadcom dmessg

If it is not there you can check all other files with the same date .
