Full ACK with Steve Litt.

1. Xfce on other Linux distros is stable and Xubuntu is stable too.
Currently I most of the times use JWM on Arch Linux, but I never run
into issues when using Xfce on Arch or e.g. Ubuntu Studio, which is
based on Xubuntu.

2. I strongly recommend to use another editor. GUI: Sublime Text (gtk2),
my favorite Pluma (gtk2), Kate (if Qt/KDE dependencies shouldn't
matter). Non-GUI: nano (easier to use than vi(m))

3. Regular make backups or at least save as another version of your
work. Just saving another version won't help you, if your HDD suddenly
should break, but at least you've got snapshots of your work, as long as
the HDD is ok. real backups, at east if your work reached a milestone
are very important.
