You are not the only one who appears to have had driver problems with
this printer - windows as well as linux users.

I noticed this post on ubuntu forums

Then I noticed you had managed to get things sorted in another email
to this list. I just thought you may like to check and see if this
ubuntu forum post is the same driver.
