Perhaps you can get rid of it with one of the other menu editors:

You used:
$ alacarte

Those are quasi like Alacarte:
$ cinnamon-menu-editor
$ mozo

But this one is different and sometimes helps:
$ menulibre

AFAIK there isn't a menu editor for Xfce4, that really is able to edit
the menu.
