What do you look for? Which 'top' column?

If you want to get a glimpse of how complex it is to estimate "memory
use", you can read the PDF in that folder:
http://www.selenic.com/smem/download/

Also, the smem tool (in the same folder) will help evaluate more
precisely how much memory is consumed and by what.
