Hi again everyone :)
Well, mission accomplished successfully, you have now two more machines
running Xubuntu :D
Thanks to all your comments/replies :)
I decided to go with Xubutnu 13.10 for the father's laptop (Thinkpad T400)
and for his son (Dell Studio 1535), I decided to install Xubuntu 12.04.3
and installing the network driver is done as well :)
Everything is great so far. Well, what did you expect? of course everything
should be fine ;)
I am glad to tell you that these are my very first two machines that I have
recruited and converted to Xubuntu. And, this will help me personally on my
project (StartUbuntu) to know what are my options because in Real Life, I
am doing my best to recruit the whole neighbourhood which has so many
people, more than 4000 I guess? because the facebook group is saying over
4000 :D
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StartUbuntu
I must admit that I was very limited with my options. Having that said, I
used to stick to Lubuntu only. But, I guess this is not the case anymore. I
am loyal to Ubuntu Communities so I am going to stick to Ubuntu Flavours :)
I guess Ubuntu GNOME is not a perfect choice for a newcomer but for someone
who has seen or used Linux, it would be a good/very good choice.
These two machines 'had' Windows XP which will be expired in 5 months so
this is a perfect timing. I am sure he will like Xubuntu and with this
great community, every support Q will be answered so I am not worried about
this.
As for Paint, I need now to figure out what do I need to do :)
Thank you everyone and I shall let you know the feedback of my neighbour
after he will have his two laptops soon ;)
