That would be ok, we're, resp. at least I'm aware of this, but moving a  
test_file from ~/Desktop/ to
~/Desktop/test_folder/ isn't an action from one to another mount point and  
this thread is exactly about the behavior when doing it on the /Desdktop/,  
while Thunar isn't running. Somebody pointed out, that when Thunar is  
running, everything is as it should be, that's another issue, the same  
action, but with a different behavior.

What I call a bug, or if it should be a feature, then I call it a feature  
of folks, with a strange worldview, is that the same action does result in  
something different, depending on Thunar running or not. Btw. I did't test  
this, I only read that somebody tested it.

JFTR:

I'm using the Desktop very seldom, but IIRC I need to double-click on the  
Deskop, while I set up my Xfce to use single clicks. Can't test it right  
now, since I'm running a GNOME 2 session.

Btw. I was in a situation were I expected that something from one mount  
point to another should be copied, but it was moved instead. I don't  
remember the used file browser, but even this is possible and IMO unwanted.
