[xubuntu-users] Sound Setting - No Sound

I have until recently had no problems with my audio output. However, it
now seems not to be working at all. Apart from using my headphones
recently I cannot think of anything I might have changed.

I have tried to use PulseAudio settings to make it work but nothing has
helped. Currently my Built in audio settings are for "Digital Stereo
(IEC958)..." on the Configuration tab and all the boxes ticked on the
Output Devices tab. "Mute Audio" is not depressed but "Lock channels
together" and "Set as fallback" buttons are.

When I play an audio file the volume bar on the Ouput Devices tab
behaves as if all is well - but no sound. I have changed speakers but
still no sound.

I am running the latest version of Xubuntu and all updates have been
installed.

Can anyone help?
