Thanks. I have checked and my settings are the same on my desk topI. 
When I go to my laptop and go Menu --> Settings Manager --> Printers it 
finds the printer, at least an icon appears showing the correct name. 
When I right click on the icon I see that Enabled is ticked but Shared 
is not ticked. So far I cannot work out how to change that.

I also get a message box telling me that the printer may not be 
connected. Very baffling.
