[xubuntu-users] Upgrade advice

At home there is a laptop running Mint Xfce (wife) another laptop
running Xubuntu (daughter) and my desk top computer which is running an
old version of Mint KDE.

It is time to update [1] so I have been looking at various distros and
checking them via VBox. I do like KDE but it is getting just too bloated
recently so I have decided to go to Xubuntu on the desk top. I really
like Xfce and we don't mention Gnome, Cinnamon or Mate please. As for
Unity .....!!

Version 12.04 of Xubuntu seems very good and my daughter is well pleased
with it. Now version 12.10 is out, but I can't see a great difference
compared to the earlier version.

Would anyone on the list like to compare the two versions of Xubuntu
please? V12.04 is a LTS until 2015 whereas v12.10 is supported till next
year as far as I can see. On the other hand I have worked with v12.04
for my daughter so I know it quite well. But v12.10 is newer although
there may not be much difference, so you see my quandary.

So if any of the experts out there would like to help me decide I will
be very grateful.
