[xubuntu-users] type of "video crash" caused by wine?

Question: does using wine affect the video performance in xubuntu?
I've installed 11.04 and everything was fine and dandy until I installed 
wine. I was able to get itunes working through wine, although the screen 
goes almost completely black until it gets started.
Later, I tried opening a video file in VLC and once it started, if I 
even moved the mouse, let alone a window, the session would end and I'd 
have to log in again..

Any thoughts?
