You need to 'pin' the package. Basically, open (or create) /etc/apt/
preferences as root, and add the following

Package: gqview
Pin: version xx.xx.xx
Pin-Priority: 1001

where xx.xx.xx is the version number that you want to stick with. There 
must be a blank line separating this from other entries. More details
