This is a bug that shows up when using thunar with detailed view, where

You can use CTRL+2 to switch to detailed view, and CTRL+3 to switch to

Thank you that was the problem - detailed view...in other views it's OK.

Two more usb questions if I may:

If i try to edit a document I get "read only" and can't edit. When I insert a USB device I want it editable by all users - ie. a user inserts it and they can use it, you can edit files on it, files are executable. How do I do this?

I find it I remove a usb drive with out first unmounting it I will loose new data I just put on the drive. Is there a way that if I put it in it mounts (actually that does usually happens) and most important - Is there a way if i pull it out it automatically unmounts so that I will not lose data?

Thanks
