Is it worth you doing a re-install of Xubuntu? If you have only just
installed it, then I guess you won't lose any work?

Alternatively, send me the output from these commands ...

# Local name resolution ..
cat /etc/hosts
# DNS settings for Internet ..
cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Network interface settings ..
sudo ifconfig
# IP routing ...
sudo route
sudo ip route
# See if you have 1. no access to the Internet OR 2. you have access but
name resolution is failing ..
firefox http://91.189.94.141/ &

Also -
Is 192.168.2.1 your ADSL/broadband router?
Does it reply to 'ping 192.168.2.1' from your PC?

Regards,
David
