[xubuntu-users] Could not find internet address

Hello David,

Thank you for helping me.

To start with your last question; no, I cannot browse with firefox.

The contents of the file sources.list can you find in the attachment.


It may be that I managed to change the addresses 127.0.0.1 and
127.0.1.1 into:

IP address laptop: 192.168.2.100
gateway address: 192.168.2.1

I am not sure because I can remember a message saying that the file
couldn't be changed/I had no permission to open the file.


These adresses work with my Windows pc. When I switch the network
cable to the laptop I hoped I could establish internet access also on
the laptop. However, so far without success. Even the menu item
Network Manager has disappeared from the menu. Therefore I use the
Terminal window instead for giving in commands and receiving results.

Because I am new to Linux this output does not bring me much further.
Also I am not familiar with the available commands in Linux/Xubuntu.
