I wonder what was the reason to remove terminal, file manager and web 
browser from desktop menu in Edgy? I've just backported the latest 
xfdesktop4 package to my Dapper and found it.

I had to copy a menu file from another machine which has an old version.

Anyway, there is a way to hide menu entries rather than remove them 
entirely. In this case anyone who like me get used to open terminal and 
file manager with right-click could simply unhide them.
