Hi Miles,

I second @Osinclaire's appreciation of the initiative. I also want to
comment on the platform of choice irc has never been an African thing, at
least not in Southern Africa to my knowledge. I am not speaking officially
and do not have statistics but I know a good number of people who are
active in the ICT community and even they do not do irc that much. I do not
know if its possible, but if it is, can you please consider using another
platform to engage with people, a Twitter hashtag would get a better
response and most IRC things can be done on Twitter ( I think.)

I myself have never really been into IRC thing.
