Hi All

Thanks for all comments. I forgot about Dell being Ubuntu graded. Will
check that out. Thanks.

Re System 76, they ship direct to SA. Of course there are some extra costs
Re shipping and tax. That said it was the best laptop I've ever used. Also
I went for normal assemblage and not immediate 24 hour extra cost prep, and
I still couldn't tell the difference. From order to shipping was amazing a
day or so.

I asked a similar question several years back and it's encouraging that
there are so many more options. Not enough, but much more than a few years
ago.

Personally I have no interest in dual booting or paying M$ tax. And I've
also successfully severed my ties with that platform that going back will
only lead to greater frustration.

Only real sadness is, I wasn't quite ready for the gnome interface. Oh
well. Can't have the whole cake I suppose.
