Subject: [ubuntu-za] Some advice and are there Any Toasters Still Around....

Hi Folks,

I haven’t been around for a while, and decided to make a return to the Ubuntu & Network world…

There are four things I need to ask…

1. LOOKING FOR UBUNTU: OMG, I didn’t realise I was so far behind, I booted up my server…. Its support expired in June 2013. (Ubuntu Server 8.10). The CD rom is a CD-Rom. And Im not really wanting to spend money just yet, until I know which route Im planning to go. So does any body, have copies of Ubuntu - Server, Desktop or Studio lying around. I think Im gonna need the alternative version of Server. I want to upgrade my current machine, My internet access is limited to 200Mb a month, on a USB modem, No ADSL. Old Machine. I can’t boot from BIOS, it’s an old DELL. Are there any

2. Durban/KZN Ubuntu Groups: Ubuntu Groups or Get-to-gethers in the Durban, Durban North & Surrounding area’s, There was talk about a house get-togethers or something before I went into Hospitality & PBX Industry in 2009. Do these still happen? If so can anybody, please send me details how to join, my details are listed below. PLEASE NO WATSAPP OR BBM,

3. WIRELESS NETWORKS & WIRELESS MESHS: Bit of a Dangerous Subject with all the ICASA Members out there, LOL. Are there any wireless Network Mesh’s in South Africa, Durban in particular, Or are there any people interested in Creating or Setting one up in Durban, I would like to start a gaming network and also something for Ubuntu/Linux Users merely for chatting and developing and More. Maybe also link up schools, etc. Anybody Interested ?

4. VOIP: Without being shot down before I begin, Yes I know TrixBox and asterisk are Centos based, etc, etc. But I would like to know if there are any VOIP developers using linux.

Regards
