[ubuntu-za] High a laptop that is OS independent with a decent warranty for Ubuntu?

Strange.. I bought a Dell Netbook with Windows 7 preinstalled a few months ago. I specifally asked whether removing Windows and installing Ubuntu would void the warranty and the answer was a categoric NO, on the basis that changing the OS has no impact on the hardware warranty.
