This is what bugs me most.  The partner repositories was always enabled 
and the flash-plugin was always installed.  I did not change anything.  
The problem appeared on some random system update.  The problem seems to 
be related to the additional download the flashplugin-installer tries to do.

This was the solution.  I purged "flashplugin-installer" and then 
installed "adobe-flashplugin".  I assume the end result is the same.  At 
least I'm not getting errors any more.
