Hi Alf, and Wesley,
Ray's problem is that it works in previous versions of Ubuntu, but not in 11.04
He might need to do the rfkill command, as that has helped some people

Some Inspirion models have this as a slide-switch on the side. Google your Inspirion model + manual to help find it.

On my ThinkPad T500 I had to press Fn-F5 to get it to work and
continually pressing this combination cycles thru Wireless & Bluetooth,
Wireless, Bluetooth, No wireless or Bluetooth.
