[ubuntu-za] Ubuntu distribution around Lepalale

Good Day Frans,
Well see my problem is that neither cd nor usb stick wants to install / run the live ubuntu on my machine, it exits with an error saying the squashfs file could not be mounted and well there it stays. Google gave a whole lot of hits on the problem but I don't seem to find a fix. I have tried various memory sticks and eventually got 10.04 installed (by mere luck no less, have the same problem with 10.04).
I'm trying to setup my laptop to be able to deploy Ubuntu over my LAN instead of using the cd/usb but for that I still need the alternate and not the live version (will however in future never download live version again) .

I did manage to get the Live CD downloaded but the live cd doesn't want to play ball with my PC (worked perfectly on my laptop).
I find that sometimes the live cd works from the usb startup disk and on
the same computer not from cd, or the other way round... depending on
the bios I think.
I could not find any explanation for that yet, also the official cd have
the same variable success. on system where neither of the other two
options worked.

When working on a computer you have to know enough:
To fake what you don't know.
Google what you can't fake.
How (and when) to 'motivate' the computer to do what Google won't tell.
