Hi Daniel, from Shawn, I think there are a few schools doing programs
like that. I know that at the College of Guguletu(NY1-nxt to the
Police Station) there is almost exactly that kind of program
happening, but it's organised through " The President's office". An
official ANC initiative. They have 30 computers, and when the college
finishes lessons at 3pm, the project has the use of the internet from
3-6pm every weekday. The computers, online, are available, free to the
public, for for limited times(maybe depending on the demand). There
are no Ubuntu OS's being used! That should be addressed. I agree with
you 100% - every school should have computers, all should be online
and available to the public/community after- hours.
