[ubuntu-za] Laptop Bootup Problem

Guys, I have a serious problem! I cannot get into my laptop. I get a
 message saying "VGA=788 is deprecated. Use set gfxpayload=800x600x16,
 800x600 before linux command instead". I think this was after the
 latest update which I did on 06 Mar 2010. I have some PCB designs which
 I did in KICAD and I need to access these on my laptop. Can anyone
 suggest a solution please - step by step if possible. Will really
 appreciate any help.
