Darrel: phpmyadmin is a web interface to MySQL for administrators.
It's a GUI tool that you can use to browse and edit your MySQL
databases.  It has nothing to do with serving PHP pages; that's what
Apache does.

You may find phpmyadmin useful if you're not familiar with
command-line SQL clients and you need to fiddle with your databases
while creating your site.  But it's not a "LAMP server".
