The Maties Ubuntu LoCo team leader/co-leader election poll is now open
at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-za-maties/+poll/maties-ubuntu-leader-election-2010/+vote-simple.
The poll will close Friday 5 February 2010. The nominee with majority
votes will get the position as leader and the runner-up will become
co-leader. Voters need to register with Launchpad
(https://launchpad.net/) and join the Ubuntu ZA Maties team
(https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-za-maties) in order to vote.

The nominees are:

cvwyk            - Carel van Wyk
hreikeras       - Helge Reikeras
hmaritz         - Herman Maritz
rmeijering      - Rudolf Meijering

The creation of the LoCo team and leadership will help towards
negotiating with university administration on open source issues, e.g.
hosting for the Ubuntu Wiki, an open source computer lab etc. Also, we
plan to hold social and promotional events such as release parties and
Software Freedom Day.
