 2010 Roadmap Ubuntu-ZA

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if we from Ubuntu side had some special plans
for SA (except world dominion :-) or for Ubuntu-ZA during 2010. The Zabuntu
page seems to be last dated October 2008 and the Ubuntu-ZA page mentions
some projects, but in general terms. It's still great, but I was wondering
if there were a 2010 roadmap for Zabuntu. Is there someway we could use the
2010 soccor event in our country to highlight/share/create awareness of
Ubuntu software? If we wished to do something in this regard, how would we
go about it? Where would we start? Could we do anything in this regard? Some
nasty questions, I know; however let's ask them and answer them and then
either sit back or start engaging the result. Perhaps they have been asked
at other forums and I have just not come across it. If we collectively
decide to leave it as is because we do not have resources/manpower/time etc,
fine; then we do just that. However, I keep on reading of resources
available overseas for special projects – is it available for Ubuntu-ZA? Are
there any companies in our own country which could make some resources
available? And if we could get resources, how would we even use it?

In any case, I thought to ask the questions here and now, so that we have
some time to think it through and then to either discard it all or to take
it further with our current projects more focused and with the potential to
make use of the wonderful event which we will share together in South Africa
this year.

Wishes for a happy new year in 2010

Rusty
