[ubuntu-za] Sound & OpenOffice questions

Hi Guys

Two quick questions.....

1) Since doing a fresh install of Kubuntu 9.10 I have no sound. It 
worked fine with 9.04 and all seems well in the set-up as far as I know. 
Any ideas?

2) Long time OO user here but I find the version with 9.10 crashes a 
lot!! Never had this before. I tried up-grading it but no joy. Right now 
if I try to open a file from OO it crashes totally - no error message - 
just 'gone'. I can however click on the file in Dolphin and it opens 
fine. Anyone else having this problem?
