[ubuntu-za] Feisty VMware SAN Replication

Hi everyone

We've had problems this past week.

We've got virtual (guest) Ubuntu Feisty/Gutsy hosts running in VMware ESX
cluster supported by a SAN.

SAN "experts" are busy trying to assist with SAN replication. Trouble is,
when the start the replication using MirrorView, all our Ubuntu hosts
remount their root filesystems as read-only (upon error):

The default configuration as reflected in fstab:
/dev/mapper/my--server-root / ext3
defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1

We need to make this hot replication succeed (while web servers remain live)
and if we can't get around the errors experienced, then I thought of maybe
changing fstab to not remount as read-only upon error.

Is that risky? Could I possibly get a corrupt virtual disk?

Anyone with experience with this or if you have any ideas, please help?

regards
Jason
