I just looked in one of my systems, and I clicked on
~/.config/google-chrome and saw 2.5GB. That IS a lot!
HOWEVER, rather than "going behind the back" of the application, maybe I'll
first try using the "approved" process for cleaning up...
open chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
and I select everything and ...
....
.... oops
....
.... forgetting I'm in GMAIL (which means I was suddenly signed out of
everything including Google "apps")
I had to log back in and find this message in Drafts.
Now that I'm logged back in I see there's still 1.1GB in there...
I think I will go through the items a bit more carefully. I use apps to
sync with my calendar, email, etc.
I see some additional profiles... some of which I might actually use
(Google Workspaces for a volunteer job, etc.)
Now Google is suggesting I need to go through a review of my privacy and
security... probably a good idea.
