DON'T EVER DO THIS !!!!

the update-manager app (do-release-upgrade) does a ton of transition
work between the releases, do not forget that there were two years
between two LTSes where the individual software went through multiple
releases and iterations, to compensate for this, update-manager will
make sure to transition configs and data between two app versions of
the two LTSes ... 

if you just switch archives you will miss these transitions,
apps/services might mis-behave, you will not get sufficient hardware
driver transitions installed etc etc 

switching sources is something you can do with mild risk (and some
fixup work) when actually using only non-LTS releases and upgrading
every 6 months ...
