Considering the above, I am wondering whether, in the line of the
response to the
apt policy
command for gnumeric;

"500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy/universe amd64 Packages"

I need to append the "amd64 Packages" to the lines in the file
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/official-package-repositories.list
so that file would become

"
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com vera main upstream import backport
#id:linuxmint_main

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy main restricted universe
multiverse amd64 Packages
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy-updates main restricted
universe multiverse amd64 Packages
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jammy-backports main restricted
universe multiverse amd64 Packages

deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ jammy-security main restricted
universe multiverse amd64 Packages
"
,or, if that is not syntactically correct, then, after each of the
main
and
restricted
and
universe
and
multiverse

components, or, some other way of inserting that component.
