2 Inboxes one account????

This is normal. Thunderbird always creates a Local mailbox before 
anything else.

I use Usenet Newsgroups, so all my posts there are filed in Local/Sent.

I don't think that is possible.

Can you explain more? I have never seen this happen. If she created her 
real mailbox in the normal way, then it is stored in a separate 
directory in ~/.thunderbird and cannot be confused with Local.
